If you are here you probably have a Peachtree door that doesn’t work properly or you might even have one that has totally stopped working. Chances are pretty good you have had a few locksmiths look at your doors and they simply said NO! Don’t worry, WE CAN HELP YOU!.
Peachtree Doors & Windows, Inc., was a manufacturer of aluminum and vinyl clad windows and doors. Peachtree was founded in 1959, with plants in Wisconsin and, GA. Peachtree Windows & Doors went out of business around 2008 and was eventually bought by Weather Shield around 2010. Weather-shield has discontinued most parts and hardware. Our owner Jayson Wolbert toured one of the factories before they closed. He was able to learn first hand how these doors were made. Jayson is known within the locksmithing industry as the "Peachtree Expert"
While you will easily find 1000 locksmiths that wont touch a Peachtree door for every 2 that will, we have found many "YouTube Certified" "experts" that learned the hard way why most locksmith refuse to work on these doors.
The Peachtree Citadel uses a Multipoint locking system with concealed internal rods. These doors must be removed form the hinges and taken down to work on them. The rods are in some cases (depending on how the lock breaks) are EXTREMELY difficult to remove. Once the main lock is replaced the rods can be quite difficult to re-install. While the YouTube video makes it look very simple, in some cases it is NOT. Even after successfully repairing well over 1200 Peachtree doors Jayson maintains these doors are why he cuts his hair so short. (2 doors even made him cry)
Peachtree doors, Peachtree locks
Peachtree used 3 different Multipoint locks on their Citadel doors. The most common being the IPD lock with 3 spring latches that extended and became deadbolts. These locks are still available.
While some locksmiths claim to be "Certified", "Factory recommended" or "Factory endorsed" Peachtree is no longer in business and unable to "Certify" "Recommend" or "Endorse" anyone. Our technicians have passed the Peachtree Certification course through the Locksmith School of America. Our owner Jayson Wolbert is well known in the locksmithing industry as the "Peachtree Expert". Jayson has helped locksmiths across the nation with Peachtree problems. Jayson is one of the only locksmiths in the Nation that instructs the Peachtree Certification course.
Yes, we are proud to be here in Music City. Sure! We love to travel. it seems like we are always flying to other states to repair these doors.
While at one time WE even thought it might be, we have found it is not. Many clients have found its quite a bit less to fly us out to repair the doors than it would be to replace them. Many Peachtree doors were custom ordered and they are quite often not the size of any readily available door.
